Vintage Tibetan Temple Turquoise Mosaic Damaru – Gzi Bead & Shell Buddhist Drum
Vintage Tibetan Temple Turquoise Mosaic Damaru – Gzi Bead & Shell Buddhist Drum
Out of stock
This small damaru drum comes from a Tibetan temple collection and is richly adorned with turquoise mosaic, gzi-style beads, and shell inlay. Traditionally used in Buddhist ritual, the damaru’s double-headed form and bright ornamentation are designed to call attention, clear space, and invoke protective energies when sounded.
The old turquoise, shell, and metalwork give this piece a distinctly timeworn character—each facet catching the light differently, each surface showing traces of handling and use. Even at rest, it reads as a powerful amulet object, carrying the atmosphere of a worship hall into the modern home.
Display it on an altar table, console, or bookshelf as a sculptural focal point, or place it alongside other temple-origin pieces such as offering bowls, thangka-inspired art, and small guardian figures. Whether or not it is used in active practice, it serves as a reminder of rhythm, breath, and the meeting point between sound and stillness.
