Brazos PeakBlend

Brazos PeakBlend is a warm season cover crop mixture combining sorghum-sudangrass, sunn hemp, and buckwheat — a grass, legume, and broadleaf combination specifically designed for planting after wheat harvest or corn silage when maximum nitrogen fixation and soil building are the priority.

Sunn hemp is one of the fastest and most prolific nitrogen-fixing cover crops available, capable of fixing substantial amounts of atmospheric nitrogen in a short growing window. Sorghum-sudangrass contributes exceptional biomass production, feeding soil biology and building organic matter rapidly. Buckwheat rounds out the mix as an efficient phosphorus scavenger and a valuable pollinator resource during bloom.

Sorghum-sudangrass and sunn hemp will frost kill, and buckwheat should winterkill as well — leaving little to no termination management required in the spring.
